Story so far

2006 – facilities audit as part of strategic plan

2007: identified preferred location / acquired 21 acres

2008 – acquired additional 8 acres / secured planning permission / partnership established: Antrim, St Comgalls, Ulster      Council

2009 – construction begins on site

Concept

Front 5 acres incorporates:
 
Centre of Excellence Building
  • Main sports hall (60m x 40m)
  • Changing rooms
  • Gym / fitness area 
  • Administration facilities
  • Kitchen and catering facilities  - Meeting rooms
  • Storage  
Retail / Commercial Space fronting main road
Parking facilities including provision for coaches
 
 

Progress

  • Two pitches have been sown
  • One will be available for use next year
  • Floodlight bases are in places for all pitches
  • Pitches prepared for perimeter fencing
  • Access road partly constructed

Spend to date; £2.8 million (at March 2012)

 
 
This will result in 3 fully sown pitches, with floodlights
